It is easy to use and easy to clean. The only thing I don’t like is the spot welds on the attachments are easily broken rendering the center cutter unusable.

Not an amazing cigar cutter. It is made of plastic as you can see from the pic, but it was cheap and gets the job done. It will hold me over until I’m ready to invest in a finer cigar cutter. My only regret is that I could have gone a little cheaper and gotten 10 for $10, but this will do just fine. As long as you’re not the type to show off all of your paraphernalia, this will work just fine.
It’s a decent cutter for its price, but it would’ve been nice to point out that this cutter is too small for robusto size cigars
When I received the cutter, my first reaction was “what a piece of crap!”. It seemed far too flimsy. However, I’ve never been one to judge things solely on looks, so I gave it a shot. To my surprise, it seems to work fairly well. I don’t expect it to last very long, as the cheap plastic body will fail fairly soon.
Very nice, lightweight, with two razor sharp blades! This is an easy to handle and accurate cutter, and its not spring loaded which is also a good thing since they tend to “stick” and lock up. Comes with small carry case.
I purchased this device for my work. I make signs for a leading Beer company.I need something to cut poster board and paper, so i decided to try the skil out.It does a good job on cutting the material except it wants to lift the material towards the blade making it hard to cut a straight line.I also purchased a Black and Decker cordless sissors, that does a wonderful job cutting a straight line for less than half the price of the Skil. The Skil has an advantage though. It can cut through thicker material like coreplast which is a plastic poster board.I like the Skil for this reason so I am happy with both tools. I would recommend that If the skil had a thinner feed line, that it would be easier to cut a straight line making it superior over other cutters.I like the long life on the battery between charging, and the auto sharpening is a plus.Over all this is a good product other than the feeding line to cut a straight line without moving at a snails pace, I still would recommend it for cutting thicker materials. Its a jewel for that.
I’m an academic and have moved over to reading and storing all of my literature electronically. I find it much easier to search for what I need this way, and I can add and remove comments and highlighting as I please. Now, my documents are quickly available with a few clicks of my mouse, rather than rummaging through my file cabinet. Plus, I can do text searches to find the information I need within my documents quickly. This is not to mention the benefits to the environment of cutting down fewer trees.
In any event, my current library includes many books. In order to add these to my digital library, I have to remove the bindings and scan the pages through our department’s copier, so the book can be emailed as a PDF to my computer (which I then run through an OCR program to make searchable). I was having great difficulty trying to remove the bindings. At first I used scissors, but this wasn’t very efficient, because I can only cut through small stacks of paper at a time. However, this handy little tool makes cutting through 40+ pages a breeze. Using this multi-cutter, I can have a book ready for copying within just a few minutes!
I don’t have any experience using this took with other media, however; I know from experience that trying to cut through large numbers of sheets of paper at once is very difficult. Just look at how expensive half-decent paper guillotines are that cut through more than 15-20 sheets of paper ($100 minimum at your local office supply store). They seem way over-priced to me, especially compared to this little machine.
Count me as a very satisfied customer!
I bought this cutter after almost going mad trying to unpack a cordless phone I bought at Costco. The phone’s plastic packing was so hard and difficult to cut, I’ve decided to give the Skil a try. It is perfect for that. Also to cut cardboard so it fits in the recycling bin. That is all. And forget it if you are left-handed.
People have a passion for machines that replace hand tools, even though the machines are not as efficient or labor saving as the hand tools they replace. The Skil Mult-cutter is one of those tool. It is one expensive knife. For the most part the Skill Multi-cutter doesn’t do anything that one could not do faster with a box cutter or scissors. It is awkward to use because the user must take time to cope with the safety features. But one thing it does and does well is open blister or hard shell packaging which is difficult to do with either a knife or scissors. Otherwise, it often jams cutting cross-ways on thick corrugated cardboard boxes and stops cutting. For me, the tool was a big disappointment. It does have a long life battery and a self sharpening cutting wheel but when the wheel wears out, which it will, there is no replacement. Another much needed improvement would be to have a button to lock it in the On position while is running.
No power, doesn’t cut straight. It’s a whinny little machine ( if you can call it that).
I was cutting 1/8″ cardboard, it couldn’t handle it. I had my doubts before I bought it,
I thought it was too good to be true. I was right. I can’t imagine what I could use this for.
For now it’s serving as clutter, not a cutter.
I always wanted a pair but as a DIY bike mechanic I had a hard time justifying the purchase for infrequent use. Well after installing my own drop bars with new shifters the money I saved by DIY gave me the reason to buy a pair. There is simply no substitute for these cutters around the average house. They are great and they’ll probably serve my grand kids well someday too! Seeing how they cut steel wire I’m betting they’ll make fast work of heavy gauge copper wire when needed.
This tool is very high quality as expected from the Park Tool brand. Works flawlessly. Strongly recommended for the home bike mechanic. Excellent cut each time.
A must have tool if you’re going to do any brake work on your bike that involves cutting cable or housing. Regular wire cutters or heavy duty shears will NOT make the clean cuts required. This Park cutter snipped cables without frays, and it cut brake and shifter housing without squishing the opening. The tool seems well made and sturdy.
Cutting cables ought to be a simple job, but with poor- or even medium-quality cutters it’s not hard to end up with frayed, messy cable ends that are difficult or impossible to install. Treat yourself to this Park Tool – it does it right, and keeps a simple job simple.
pays for itself. no frays, crimps, will check back in 1 year, see how it holds up
don’t even bother using regular cable cutters on bike cables- one cable change job will pay for this tool several times over- go buy new teflon cables and install them. make your bicyle happy and spend little $$$
I used to have a rotary cutter that had a guard that was spring-loaded so the blade only came out when I pressed down to cut. That way I could slide the cutter sideways up to the ruler edge and cut. The blade on this one is always exposed and I have to carefully position it. It takes more time and I nick it on the ruler edge frequently. It has a comfortable handle, but that doesn’t outweigh the drawbacks for me.
This is cheaply made and has the problem of not staying together well. The plastic nut that holds the blade on keeps falling off. Cuts well, but I wouldn’t buy it again.
This cutter is excellent. It is so convienant and easy to use. Just remember to click the blade back into storage after each cut to make sure you don’t leave the blade rased and out. It is a very nice sharp blade, so safety first around it. I like to purchase extra blades, but so far I have not needed to replace it yet.
