Byscrapbooking supplies Significant Guide
I read some bad reviews on this product so I almost didn’t get it but I bought it anyway and I love it. It holds tons of 12×12 card stock and the smaller packs too. The shelves hold a lot of my tools. The only problem is the drawers don’t slide too smoothly and my punches don’t fit in them but the fact that most of my scrap booking supplies are in one place now outweighs the small drawers. I would definately buy another one should I need more space later on. It saves me time when I clean up and I can now find everything, priceless!!

This stack is great! This stack includes more designs with only 2 sheets for each, rather than 3. It’s colors are vibrant and cohesive if you’re looking to do a book that matches. It would be a great gift for any scrapper!!
I used this for my die cut machine, Sturdy well made and an ease for cut dies. Price is good too! Need I say more?
This book of 12×12 sheets are heavy weight, vibrant colors, and fun designs. I’ve been using the more subtle sheets from this book to build a portfolio of wedding photographs. The more `busy’ sheets have been great backgrounds for portraiture of children.
The pages have a glue binding that takes a bit of work to break and do tear if your not careful. At time the I’ve had to use an knife to cut the glue off of the binding edge.
These pages have added a wonderful creative depth to my photos.
If you like to use glitter paper for scrapbooking or other arts/crafts, these are better than any I’ve seen at the various craft stores, plus the price is more reasonable than buying individual sheets. I loved most of them and will use all of them. The only thing I don’t like about them is the smell – probably the glue. Hope that goes away in time. Otherwise these are perfect.
What a great invention. Why didn’t I think of this? It hold loads of embellishments, containers, and tools. It fits right in with any decor. People always remark that I look organized. Ha. What they don’t know won’t hurt me.
I am loving this shelf. It has made my life easier. I now have all of my ribbon at my fingertips. Great shipping time. This was a great shopping experience.
These meet my needs but glad I bought on sale with free shipping. I bought 4 & they are so flimsy that the backs are warped & corners dented. The drawers don’t move smoothly. If you are want a sturdy product, look elsewhere. These are not up to par for Making Memories quality

Good quality paper. Colors are definitely bright but differing levels of brightness. I like to make original cards with them (birthday’s, thank you’s, invitations, etc.) The paper is textured and thick enough for stability.
I love this paper! I’m almost through with it, I’ll definately restock my collection with this! Beautiful colors!
I was looking for a basic cutting machine that wouldn’t cost a few hundred dollars. I also wanted it to be Cricut brand. This was a reasonable price and is perfect for cutting titles, shapes, etc. It also came with a basic font cartridge which suits my needs fine for now.
Amazon had the best price I could find online.
I was so anxious to get my cricut personal cutting machine, but after having it for a month, I am shipping it back..Why can’t they have 1 cartridge that you can do everything with? I found that I didn’t have the right cartridges to do anything with. And they are pretty pricey. So, after working all afternoon yesterday trying to make my granddaughter a birthday day card and halloween card together and then having it look horrible. I just decided that it wasn’t worth it. It’s suppose to be fun and relaxing, but it wasn’t that for me..
It’s a great product and very simple to use. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the manual that comes with the machine. Once you get past the initial set-up which is not that complicated (all you have to do is insert the cartridge and the razor) and that takes about 5 minutes, you’re good to go.
The only problem is the cutting pad; on your first few cuts, the pad sticks to the paper (especially if you use a regular paper, cardstock is the best choice for this machine). Place the cardstock on the pad and gently press it with your fingers so it stays put. You don’t have to press hard. Also, the pad lasts longer than what the manual says, just make sure you place the protecting sheet back on it when you’re done.
The other problem, well… it’s the price of new cartridges. The machine comes only with one basic cartridge and manual for alphabets and some basic tags and shapes. For anything fancy, you will need to purchase a new cartridge for each font. Check the price of cartridges for different fonts online before you purchase this product (if pricing is one of your concerns), otherwise, you’re stuck with one font (and not a fancy one).
This machine is great for the most part. But, if you have technical problems don’t count on customer service helping you.
I had this product for seven months before it began cutting in the wrong position (jumping an inch low on the start mark) and wouldn’t turn on or off at times.
I called customer service and was told to turn the machine off when changing cartridges, that is not written anywhere on the information given. The machine had a one year warranty so they sent me a replacement machine. My first problem was that this machine was refurbished. I had used my cricut very little in the time I had it and with a refurbished machine I had no idea how many hours were logged on it or what the previous problem had been. Also its appearance was that of a well used machine, dirty on the inside, scuff marks, etc. I refused this machine and asked for my old one to be refurbished. This was not possible and of course requesting a new machine was out of the question. A “new” refurbished machine was sent. Meanwhile, time was ticking on my one year warranty and I asked customer service to extend that warranty, I was after all out several weeks with problems out of my control. I was repeatedly told that the one year warranty would stand no matter what. So, the “new” refurbished machine was out of warranty a few weeks after I received it. And guess what…….it is doing the same thing my original machine did and only works a quarter of the time. The company will not stand behind their product, and customer service is not helpful in any way!
I love the idea of what the machine can do, but I am on my third poorly functioning machine; it is out of warranty and I am out of luck.
Let me first say that this is a really great tool and it cuts well once you get the hang of which thickness settings to use. It is amazing the way it can cut letters and sayings. This you can do in no time. If you are a scrapbooker, you have a great supply of fonts and shapes, but as others have said it is pricey as you have to purchase cartridges to get all this. I am a stamper/card maker so use stamped images rather than die cut images as my focus. So what I was looking for was the shapes like squares, rectangles, ovals, scalloped ovals, etc to layer under my stamped image.
But the size of these shapes are determined by the machine and I don’t get as much flexibility as I would like. For example, if I want a rectangle, I can set the width using machine pre-set options, but not the length (or vice versa whichever direction I plan to use the piece). I can’t really tell what length it will be until the machine cuts it and if it is too long, I have to manually cut it to size. There a size dial that has limited inches options of 1.0, 1.25, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5,5 (maybe 5.5 can’t remember). So if I want a 3.25 square, I have to make a 3.5 and manually cut it down. I spent last night printing out various shapes in various sizes to use as templates when I design a card so I hope this helps. I will have to design to what the machine can do rather than get the machine to do what I want. I make cards to donate so I wanted a faster way to make many cards. This machine will save me some work but I still will have to do a lot of manual cuts. I don’t think I want to return it, but this is most disappointing.
Also, on most cartridges there are very few images like those that I want to use. A lot of fonts and cute focus shapes, but not a lot of the type of thing I use. I guess that means I won’t spend a lot on cartridges!
Go to You Tube and see what others are saying about how to re-sticky the mat or ways to use your computer fonts instead of the cartridges. I haven’t tried these yet, but they may be a way to save on money.
Maybe the more expensive models give you more flexibility or if there are tips I just don’t know yet. I just bought the Cricut Personal so I didn’t research that much and didn’t want to spend more for a bigger model.
Fiskars, well-known for their scissors and paper punches, makes a great system for embossing, stenciling and cutting. It’s super for scrapbooking and cardmaking. Everything in these sets works together. I have several of the sets, and thought you might be interested in this versatile system.
The first piece that you need is the Scrapboss. Measuring 12 inches by 12 inches, it’s big enough for full-size scrapbook pages. Templates are fastened to it by repositionable pegs. Underneath, there’s a storage tray to store templates and paper. It comes with 2 styluses, some stencils, and a project book. The Scrapboss can use any stencils and templates that Fiskars makes.
There’s a smaller cousin, the Shapeboss. It fits stencils and templates that are 9 inches by 11 inches and smaller. It comes with a stylus and some stencils. It does not have the storage tray. For the smallest sizes, try the Cardboss or Mini ShapeBoss Set The stencils listed on those pages both work on the Scrapboss and Shapeboss.
Embossing and Stenciling
Embossing and stenciling are very easy with this system. The laser-cut stencils come in two parts. First you lay the bottom piece on the Scrapboss, then the top piece. The top piece has grid lines and is marked, “top.” Next I usually put a couple pegs in the corners to hold it securely in place. I position the paper, cardstock, or thin metal in between the two pieces and, start embossing. The styluses comes with different size tips. Smaller tips are better for detailed areas, while large areas can be finished quickly with the bigger tips.
The stencils come in a large variety, from abstract lines and letters, good for lots of pages, to holiday and baby themes. If you click on the small pictures on this page and this page, you can see the details of each one.
Sometimes I emboss right on a 12×12″ scrapbook page and create borders and frames. I also make embellishments by embossing smaller pieces or copper pieces. I usually emboss before cutting them out. It’s easier.
Another set that I use alot to make photo mats and embellishments for scrapbooking and cards are the Texture Plates. They’re made of hard plastic with holes at the top for the pegs. Each is two-sided, with a different texture on each side. The assortment pack is a great value and contains 6 double sided plates (12 designs) including hearts/ stars, lines/waves, bubbles/dots, squares/fabric, stones/bricks and wood/leaves.
I use the Texture Plates with the Shape Templates that I’ll talk about later to create my own textured die-cuts. For example, I put the heart shape template on the Scrapboss with a hearts texture plate beneath it. I slide my paper in-between. I emboss inside the heart shape, creating a hearts texture. Then I cut out the heart shape. It’s very cute! I also like to create titles this way, using the letter and number shape templates and the other texture plates.
Cutting
The Fiskars templates for cutting are designed for the ShapeCutter. It’s a very safe and accurate way to cut out clean shapes and letters. The cutting mat and shape templates fit the Scrapboss or Shapeboss and have holes to secure them with the pegs. Using the ShapeCutter is very simple. Hold the base of the ShapeCutter inside the template and follow around the edge. To cut a freehand design, I just look down at the blade and follow my traced line. The blade is adjusted by a knob on top for different paper thicknesses.
The ShapeTemplates are sturdy plastic with grid lines, and can be stored in a binder. They have several shapes on each one, and some have border designs along the sides. They come in many varieties and letters and numbers. There’s also a set of Super Size ShapeTemplates. On these, you can use the inside and outside of each shape, That’s great for cropping a photo and creating a matching shape mat.
Overall, I use the Scrapboss alot in my paper-crafting. It’s very versatile, and I can create many different looks, cards, and layouts.
