By
I have read this book cover to cover and have learned so much about my digital cameras and Picasa and iPhoto. I own four of David Pogue’s books.
This truly is the Missing Manual that should have been in the box with my cameras.

Whether you scrapbook, make cards, or do any type of art, this book provides endless techniques and eye candy to tantalize you. Every time I pick it up, there are still techniques I haven’t tried yet!!! If you only buy one book, THIS ONE IS IT!!!!
Can’t say enough good things about this book! I ended up buying it for two friends who are avid scrapbookers and they LOVED it as well! There are SO MANY ideas – things we never thought of – and we all refer to again and again for more inspiration and direction! We occasionally take out the other books we have, but this is the one that is the most dogeared! Being the least experienced of the 3 of us, I found it especially helpful that it was easy to read and find information – I appreciated the layout very much. This book brought me up to speed with my more experienced friends!
This book gives you ideas, but it’s outdated. They need to update the techniques and materials
Someday I want to get my photos out of the shoebox, off the computer and into a book I can enjoy in the comfort of my favorite chair! Not knowing anything about scrapbooking as soon as I saw this book I knew it was a must have! Someday getting here will have to wait a little longer tho. As I went through the book, ideas for cardmaking,(my main addiction) were almost overwhelming! The tips, techniques and ideas in this book can easily be used for making cards and other crafting projects! The information in and inspiration that comes from this book is priceless!
This book is a must-have for any scrapbooker or cardmaker. I got so many ideas on how to use existing tools that I have.

If you plan on taking scrapbooking to a higher level than the usual cut and paste, this book is for you. Plus, it is not for the beginner. It is for the very creative mind, the person who has that extra knack to be crafty and skillful.
Great ideas are here, and you will explore attaching memorabilia, pockets, buttons, tags, pennants, felts, cords, etc. You will learn stamping, embossing stitching, piercing and painting. I like the idea of photo mosaic.
Pages are colorful with complete instructions, ideas, examples. Included are templates, motifs, and mottoes.
The author, Sarah Beaman trained as a fashion designer and author of Complete Guide to Card Making and Fast Cards. This 2005 book is an excellent source to challenge yourself with scrapbooking. The ideas and pages demonstrated will be used for a long time. It is beautiful work….Rizzo
I’ve been into photography off and on for years. One thing I’ve learned to hate are 250 to 300 page books to make something “simple”. You can learn a lot from this book and it frankly is just a good read without a lot of hype.
I have been an accomplished ameture photographer for over 40 years. I started out using a Canon AE-1 back in the seventies. Through the years I migrated eventually to the digital world. It is interesting to note how much you forget when the camera does everything for you. I recently purchased the Nikon P90 with the 24X optical zoom and the 12.1mp, etc. It has all the bells and whistles of a DSLR and a compact Digital camera. This camera has the P-S-A-M settings and that leads us to the Book in question. David Pogue is unique in his ability to not only refresh your memory but to teach in a way that is very user friendly. I have relearned so much by reading this great book! He covers all known fine points of great photography and helps you avoid the digital pitfalls that you would ordinarily fall into on your own. This is a grand undertaking and very much appreciated! Good for ameture and professional alike!
Thanks David!

This is the best book for someone like me who is new to photography and bought a very nice SLR. The information is invaluable and sent me back to the manual and the camera to make sure I did the settings correctly. It explains everything very clearly. I can say I finally understand what the other books are talking about. Highly recommended, specially for a beginner.
This book is a must for anyone taking up digital photography. So much murky information in a camera’s manual is made clear. Terrific!
